A Little History:

APPLICATION

In 1907, a man by the name of James E. ("Jim") Casey borrowed 0 from a friend and established the American Messenger Company in my home town of Seattle, Washington. There were already quite a few messenger services in the Seattle area, some of which Jim had worked for in the past. In response to calls made by telephone in the basement of their headquarters, located under a sidewalk, messengers would run errands, deliver packages, carry notes, and baggage. Most of this was done on foot but would occasionally be delivered by bicycle for longer trips. Their biggest customer in this era was the United States Post Office where they began combining packages that were addressed to a particular neighborhood onto delivery vehicles. This made things more efficient and kept costs and rates low. Jumping ahead to 1919, the company adopted its present name of the United Parcel Service, a name everyone is familiar with when they see their big brown delivery trucks pass them on the roads today.

Employment Opportunity:

Known by their slogan, "we run the tightest ship in the shipping business," they are truly the worlds largest and most successful package delivery company. They operate in more than 200 countries and employ more than 400,000 people across the globe. They strongly encourage continuous education by offering tuition assistance programs and have a firm promote-from-within policy. This provides the employee with the potential of new goals and opportunities. They offer career choices anywhere from being a Package Handler, to positions in Information Services. They have a comprehensive benefit package, which offers medical, dental, vision, and a 401k plan. They have been recognized as one of the 50 best places to launch a career by BusinessWeek. All of these are very good reasons why you should consider completing that UPS job application, but should you? While UPS might be a great company to work for, is it really going to fulfill your life dreams and aspirations. Do you not feel that you deserve more than that?

Now the Alternative:

Have you ever dreamed of working for yourself? Have you ever considered working at home where you do not have to worry about whether you are going to make it to work on time or meet that next deadline? Wouldn't it be wonderful to not have to worry about whether that next layoff is going to affect you? Why not consider using the power of the internet to give you stability that you need to achieve your goals and life dreams? Consider a business where you can literally have multitudes of people come directly to you for your products and services. This is a valid option for you today that did not exist a decade ago, and all you need is a laptop and internet connection. If you are given the right training and support, your potential can be enormous. I can lead the way if you follow.
